Portuguese Researcher’s COVID-19 paper was featured in “Nature Nanotechnology” cover
The article “Immune-mediated approaches against COVID-19” written by Helena Florindo of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universidade de Lisboa (FFUL) – together with Ron Kleiner, Daniella Vaskovich-Koubi, Rita C. Acúrcio, Bárbara Carreira, Eilam Yeini, Galia Tiram, Yulia Liubomirski and Ronit Satchi-Fainaro – was featured in “Nature Nanotechnology” cover published in August 2020.
This manuscript results from the long-standing collaboration between the FFUL Professor and Leader of the BioNanoSciences – Drug Delivery and Immunotherapy Group at iMed.ULisboa FFUL’s and Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, Full Professor at the University of Tel Aviv. This paper constitutes a valuable contribution to the research community as it presents a comprehensive overview of SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis and examines immune-mediated approaches currently explored for COVID-19 treatments, with an emphasis on nanotechnological tools, which are expected to play a paramount role in prophylactic and therapeutic approaches.
