The Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) stands for science and education for all. The availability of reliable information and trust in science are two important tools to empower citizens. Therefore, the Science for Development Programme has brought together scientists from all of the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) to make information about the COVID-19, its prevention and diagnosis available to as many people as possible.

No one should be left behind, so education material is being created in a variety of local languages and tailored to the local contexts (also in collaboration with WasteAid).
