RESILIENCE - Self-Regulation and Healthy Habits as an Individual Protective Tool in the Context of Epidemics - evidence from COVID-19
The goals of the project are: 1) to characterize the prevalence of protective habits, such as the practice of exercise and healthy nutrition intake, among individuals passing through a period of confinement; 2) to evaluate the impact/association of self-regulatory skills in practicing healthful behaviors -healthy diet and exercise- and in dealing effectively (good mental health) with the confinement restrictions.
The results of the present project will contribute to the knowledge on the importance of individual protective/healthy habits and cognitive status to fight against epidemics such as COVID-19 effectively, easing the burden on healthcare professionals. Additionally, it will shed light on the importance of self-regulatory skills to deal with confinement restrictions. Finally, and more importantly it will provide guidelines for policy makers and clinical practitioners to conduct more effective interventions.
