Vent2Life - The initiative that aims to identify and recover inactive medical ventilators
The vent2life.eu platform, (VentSecoundLife), was launched with the aim of getting the civil society to participate in the rehabilitation of medical ventilators and respiratory equipment. The idea is that all interested entities, be they public or private companies, can identify ventilators or other medical equipment that they have and that are not being used or that need repair, without parts or supplies or simply obsolete. The concept is that, after rehabilitation, these ventilators can be used to reinforce health units in Portugal and in the World.
The project allows, through this platform, the connection between equipment donors, companies, volunteers and specialists able to rehabilitate the equipment and, finally, the health units that need ventilators.
At the moment, the platform already has nearly two dozen ventilator under analysis, and 13 units have already been rehabilitated within 20 days.
The platform will soon be available in other countries.
