Several initiatives have risen to respond to the lack of ventilators amid the recent Covid-19 outbreak. Virtually all are based on components without fatigue tests and make compromises such as not allowing for assisted respiration modes (critical for Covid-19).
Our approach uses widely-available medical-grade components controlled by open-source and customisable software. It enables rapid national/world-wide manufacturing and certification, as well as ease of component substitution if sold-out.
